Originally from Japan and now available world-wide Reiki is a holistic form of energy healing which simultaneously re-balances the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels of the mind and body.

Reiki practitioners channel healing energy into their hands and then place them on, or above, certain parts of the client’s body (private areas are not touched). The client’s energy system then draws in the amount of healing energy that they need at each session. Reiki can be used as a treatment for any condition ranging from mild discomfort to terminal illness or to aid relaxation and is a very effective way to de-stress.

What happens during a Reiki healing session?

Prior to beginning the hands-on healing I will take a confidential medical history and answer any questions that you have about the process. During the treatment, which lasts approx. 1 hour, you remain fully-clothed and lie on a treatment couch while I place my hands on, or above, your body.

It is possible to experience many different sensations during a Reiki treatment but typical client reactions include feelings of heat, cold or tingling and most people find Reiki to be very relaxing.

Reiki is not ‘faith-healing’ and the outcome of a session does not depend upon your belief system or lack of one!  As a complementary therapy, Reiki can be used in conjunction with traditional medicine and all other therapies. It has no unpleasant side-effects – only nice ones!
