Mediumship

I have been aware of my mediumship abilities since 1999. I have worked on platform at Spiritualist Churches and after a period of development in an Open Circle sat in a Closed Circle (for mediums with advanced capabilities) for six years before moving to Shropshire.

What does a sitting with a Medium involve?

The purpose of a sitting with a medium is for evidence to be provided that the soul exists after physical death. Mediums act as channels for people who have passed from the Earth plane who wish to communicate. Most mediums also receive messages to pass on but this is not their main function.

Although the purpose of all mediums is to act as a communication channel, the ways in which we work can differ greatly – there is no ‘right’ way to work with those in the Spirit World (or rather for them to work with us). Some mediums see their communicators while others hear them or sense the information that they wish to be passed on.

Mediums who work in trance allow the communicator to speak through them using their vocal equipment. Those observing trance mediums may notice their facial characteristics change and their tone of voice and vocabulary is likely to mirror those of the communicator.

Can I choose who comes through?

No and neither can the medium. We cannot guarantee that anyone at all will communicate – although I have never been let down yet! – or that a specific person will come. In my experience those in the Spirit World tend to come at times when you most need them but this is completely out of our control. It is worth remembering that your loved ones are around you much of the time even if you are not aware of them and will be aware of your thoughts and the situations you are facing.

How often should I see a Medium?

In theory, once you have evidence that the person contacting you has passed over there is no need for further sittings and some mediums will not sit for the same person more than once for that reason. However, if you feel the need for further contact I will sit for you again if guided to do so.

Having a sitting with a medium can bring immense comfort and reassurance that loved ones are no longer in pain and are not suffering in any way and also provides an often much needed opportunity to say those things that those left behind did not have a chance to. However, it is important to remember that once the period of mourning is over, however long that takes, those of us still on the Earth plane have to continue with our earthly lives.
